Rebecca Anderson, PhD, is recently retired Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Director of Integrated Mental Health in Pain Management Center at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She is the author of over 70 peer reviewed articles, 6 book chapters, and 2 books. She served as Secretary of the WI Psychology Examining Board and is currently a board member of the Wisconsin Psychological Assn. Clinically she was a member of a comprehensive pain management program which encompasses musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic pain, and headaches working with Anesthesia, Neurology, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation teams. Prior to that she was the Director of Psychological Services in Transplant surgery. She utilizes CBT, mindfulness, use of apps, imagery recordings, and biofeedback as part of an integrated approach to address adjustment and improve function and quality of life for patients. She served for years on the Froedtert Hospital ethics Committee and is MCW faculty for the Semi-annual Ethics Course at the Door County Institute.
Dr. Anderson has consulted with the US Food and Drug Association and the justice Department. Dr. Anderson has served as an expert witness and performed numerous fitness for Duty Evaluations, Independent Medical Evaluations and pre-employment psychological evaluations for police and fire departments. She has provided coaching for executives and for medical residents and Fellows. She also has extensive experience in Wellness and Completed the University of Arizona Fellowship in Integrated Health Care.
